Discovering Banyan Tree Spa at Marina Bay Sands

Discovering Banyan Tree Spa at Marina Bay Sands

In a vibrant city like Singapore it’s important to find time to pamper yourself and simply relax. I discovered recently a unique and stunning place dedicated to wellbeing, settled in the most iconic building of the city, that I couldn’t keep for me any longer: Banyan Tree Spa Marina Bay Sands.

Banyan Tree is a big name in the hospitality market, synonym of modern Asian luxury in unique places, so when I discovered they have a Spa branch in Singapore I decided to pay a visit there to check how amazing it is. Well, I have not been disappointed! One of the best Spa location ever.

The place

Located in the most iconic building of Singapore, Banyan Tree Spa Marina Bay Sands stands out immediately thanks to the unique design of the hosting place.

Marina Bay Sands is indeed a massive luxury complex composed of a five-star hotel – divided in three buildings – a shopping mall, several Michelin-star awarded restaurants, a theater, a wonderful promenade along the sea and so many other things I can’t list here.. You can literally spend a whole day there without getting bored.

Then, of course, being settled at 55th floor is also a huge positive point. As you can imagine, views are breathtaking and enhance the atmosphere of wellbeing – away from the busy city – as well as the feeling of exclusiveness. In term of design, I noticed the traditional codes from Banyan Tree branding which are actually pretty nice touches. Lovely!

Treatment room

Each treatment room offers a changing area, shower/jacuzzi for some of them, and stunning views over Marina Bay through floor-to-ceiling windows. I really liked the beautiful interior design that perfectly matches the rest of the Spa and even the building. Lavish, stylish, opulent.

The massage table itself is pretty basic but still comfortable and after all, it does the job.

Therapist & massage

I selected a 60-min Swedish massage; after feeling a short form at reception I have been introduced to my therapist, a friendly young Thai woman, who escorted me to the treatment room. She started by a 5-min foot bath, served me a delicious herbal iced tea, then asked for the pressure and which essential oil I would like to enjoy. All with a perfect English and a lovely smile, that’s pretty rare so I have to remark it.

Then the therapist arranged the room lighting and music selection, to finally begin my delightful massage; an incredible journey to Heaven thanks to that Thai specialist. Like any other Banyan Tree Spa Marina Bay Sands treatments, once finished I had a complimentary 30-min Calm Time in a relaxation lounge with 360° views over Singapore and refreshments. Fantastic!

Overall experience

If you are passing through Singapore for a stopover or a long stay, I highly recommend to come by Banyan Tree Spa Marina Bay Sands for a relaxing and surprising moment. This luxury cocoon will take care of you the time of a massage and because of the location, you will not forget it. Cherry on the cake, pricing is actually quite good compared to competitors in the city so just go for it!
