Europe tour via London and Milan

Europe is a good travel option for late October as you can still benefit of good weather, warm temperatures and discover gorgeous autumnal landscapes ; moreover all capitals and main european cities are easily available by train or plane through shorthaul.

So on this basis and upon readers’ requests, we decided to visit London – let’s say our first “traveling” home – and Milan during a short week where we discovered new five-star hotels and took time to relax. For sure, those destinations are perfect to escape from everyday business and find out both cultural and luxury activities.

At London we stayed one night at The Halkin, a by COMO property – actually a true jewel – hosting a one Michelin star basque restaurant “Ametsa with Arzak Instruction”. The location in Belgravia is just at 5 minutes walk from Hyde Park and Harrod’s ; so convenient to take a breathe in the morning, go shopping in the afternoon and have a wonderful dinner in the evening :) We especially recommend to visit Hyde Park at this time of the year, colors are just amazing. One tip : go there to encourage runners for Serpentine duathlon, every last October’s Sunday. Then, we spend the second night in another by COMO hotel, The Metropolitan London. Completely different style, much more epurate and modern in a business way ; probably the best place for workers.

Finally, after a short 1 hour and half flight we landed at Milan Linate where we booked a 2-night stay at Bulgari hotel in city centre, few steps from Piazza del Duomo and main city attractions. Milan can be surprising for extra-european people – in a negative way – because the architecture is a bit anarchic and even ugly at city borders, so just keep in mind that all points of interest are in the historical center only. There, Milan offers its best with sumptuous monuments – la Scala, il Duomo, Galleria Vittorio… – , all luxury brand flagships and masterpieces of italian architecture ; after touring these places all day long, back to Bulgari to be pampered in its exclusive Spa and experiment, why not, a Bulgari Half Day Ritual ?
