Like Armani or Bulgari in the past years, Gucci recently decided to extend its luxury expertise to food & beverage industry. After a successful attempt in 2012 at Florence Gucci Museo, the fashion house opens now its first fine-dining restaurant in Shanghai IAPM mall.
1921 Gucci Restaurant Shanghai is located at 4th floor of IAPM mall, straight above the Gucci retail store, and is composed of a chocolate bar (offering currently homemade cakes), a coffee area and a fine-dining restaurant with a stunning terrace overlooking the gorgeous Huaihai Zhong road. The atmosphere is very chic, cosy, with premium materials – amazing wooden walls and floor – which obviously reminds us the overall Gucci ambience. Branding is not showy, we can only know we are in a Gucci place thanks to the gold 1921 logo displayed at entrance and emblazoned on tablecloths.

We booked a table for dinner and we enjoyed a tuna tartar, tagliatelle with morels and foie gras, a cod fillet and finally a chocolate fondant for dessert. Food is Italian classical style, designed by Chef Giuliano Dacasto and absolutely stunning for reasonable prices ; this restaurant is definitely going to be one of the most city’s renowned restaurant.

To complete the overall experience, the restaurant is accessible via a private elevator directly from the retail store which makes IAPM the best place to enjoy a full Gucci journey. Hey, welcome to luxury world!
